Understanding Profile User Interface in AnswerHub

The Profile User Interface (UI) allows users to edit their own profile information for other users to see, and view more information about other users.

You can access the Profile UI by clicking on the Avatar drop-down menu and selecting Profile.

What You Can Do With The Profile User Interface

From the Profile User Interface, you can do the following:

  • Update Avatar
  • Update About Me
  • Resend Email Validation
  • View or Edit Your Subscriptions
  • View Your Activity
  • View Your Badges

Update Avatar

To update Avatar, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your AnswerHub site.
    Result: The AnswerHub User Interface displays.
  2. From the Navigation bar, click the Avatar drop-down menu, and select Profile.
    Result: The User Profile UI displays.
  3. Click the Upload Picture link.
    Result: The "Change your avatar picture" window displays.
  4. To upload a picture from your computer, do the following:
    a. Click the SELECT FILE button.
    Result: Your computer’s file manager displays.
    NOTE: You can also drag and drop a file from your computer into the drag and drop Upload from Computer field.
    b. Locate and select the required file.
    Result: The file name displays to the right of the Select File button.
    c. Click the UPLOAD button.
    Result: The "Preview and Resize" window displays.
    d. Resize the picture.
    e. Click the ACCEPT button.
    Result: Your new picture displays in the User Profile UI.
  5. To revert back to your Gravatar, do the following:
    a. Click the USE YOUR GRAVATAR.COM PICTURE button.
    Result: Your Gravatar displays in the User Profile UI.

Update About Me

To update About Me, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your AnswerHub site.
    Result: The AnswerHub User Interface displays.
  2. From the Navigation bar, click the Avatar drop-down menu, and select Profile.
    Result: The User Profile UI displays.
  3. In the About Me section, click the EDIT button.
    Result: The About Me field becomes editable.
  4. Enter the required information into the About Me field.
  5. Click the SAVE button.
    Result: The edits display in the About Me section.

Resend Email Validation

To resend email validation, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your AnswerHub site.
    Result: The AnswerHub User Interface displays.
  2. From the Navigation bar, click the AVATAR drop-down menu, and select Profile.
    Result: The User Profile UI displays.
  3. Click the Not Validated icon.
    Result: The "Resend email validation" window displays.
  4. Click the YES button.
    Result: The "A reminder for validating the user's email has been sent" window displays.
  5. Click the OK button.

View Or Edit Your Subscriptions

To view your subscriptions, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your AnswerHub site.
    Result: The AnswerHub User Interface displays.
  2. From the Navigation bar, click the Avatar drop-down menu, and select Profile.
    Result: The User Profile UI displays.
  3. Click the My Subscriptions link.
    Result: The "Manage Followed Items" screen displays with the Topics tab pre-selected.

NOTE:

The Ideas and Articles tabs will only display if your AnswerHub site has the Ideation and Knowledge Base plugins activated, respectively.

  1. To view your Question subscriptions, click the Questions tab.
    Result: The Questions tab displays.
  2. To view your ideas subscriptions, click the Ideas tab.
    Result: The Ideas tab displays.
  3. To view your articles subscriptions, click the Articles tab.
    Result: The Articles tab displays.
  4. To view your users’ subscriptions, click the Users tab.
    Result: The Users tab displays.
  5. To view your spaces subscriptions, click the Spaces tab.
    Result: The Spaces tab displays.
  6. To unsubscribe from any of your descriptions, locate the subscription to unfollow and click the FOLLOWING button.

NOTE:

When you hover over the FOLLOWING button, it displays as the UNFOLLOW button.

Result: The FOLLOWING button displays as the FOLLOW button, and you are no longer subscribed to that node.
10. To go back to your User Profile UI, click the VIEW PROFILE button.
Result: The User Profile UI displays.

View Your Activity

To view your activity, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your AnswerHub site.
    Result: The AnswerHub User Interface displays.
  2. From the Navigation bar, click the Avatar drop-down menu, and select Profile.
    Result: The User Profile UI displays.
  3. In the [username]’s Activity section, your most recent activity displays.
  4. Optional: To see more of your activity, click the show more link below the [username]’s Activity section.

View Your Badges

To view your badges, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your AnswerHub site.
    Result: The AnswerHub User Interface displays.
  2. From the Navigation bar, click the Avatar drop-down menu, and select Profile.
    Result: The User Profile UI displays.
  3. Your badges displays in the "Badges" section.
  4. Optional: To see a badge’s details, click on the badge.
    Optional Result: The [badge] UI displays.
