Overview

The Attachment Settings page allows the admin to control the authorized types of extensions, authorized types of image extensions and other configurations. You can control attachment configurations for Comments, Kbentries, Answers, Questions, Ideas and Idea Comments. Remember to click the SAVE CHANGES button before moving to the next panel.

Manage Allowed File Types for Attachments

The Authorized Types and Image Authorized Types text fields allow you to enter the file extensions of any attachment type you would like enabled for your nodes.

Each content type listed on the Attachment Settings page (Comment, Kbentry, Answer, Question, Idea-comment, Idea) has a checkbox that allows the admin to Enable attachments for each. An unchecked box disables attachments for the content type.

Custom Node Metadata

Access from the Admin Console

Location: Content > Node Structure > Custom Node Metadata

Overview

Custom Node Metadata allows the admin to create additional metadata properties to use with a node. Templates or supported plugins can access these metadata properties to process additional data. On the Custom Node Metadata page you can perform the following:

  • Create Custom Node Metadata
  • Enable or Disable Custom Node Metadata
  • Edit Custom Node Metadata

Create Custom Node Metadata

  1. Click the CREATE CUSTOM METADATA TYPE button.
Result: The New Node Metadata Type modal window will open.
  2. In the first tab called, Main, enter the Name and Description of your new node metadata type. Then select the node metadata type by selecting the radio button for either Node or User Relation.
    a. Node: Selecting this creates a new endpoint in the AnswerHub Community UI.
    b. User Relation: Selecting this creates a new user relation.
  3. In the second tab called, Karma & Security, select the specific checkboxes for your needs.
  • Award Karma: Karma is the same as reputation. If you want the node metadata to award karma/reputation points, then select this checkbox.
If you decide to Award Karma, then you will be able to add numeric values for the node author and the metadata author to assign that value of karma/reputation.
  • Limit Node Types: Select this checkbox if you would like to limit the custom node metadata type to specific content types. Then select each node type from the list below, if you want that specific one to have the new metadata type.
