2.30.0 Release Notes

January 13, 2023

Summary

The 2.30.0 feature release includes enhancements to custom web panels, Teams integration, Advanced Analytics, the Froala editor, and minor maintenance updates.

  • New templated Custom Web panels allow AnswerHub Community Managers to add Resource link type panels to guide users to useful resources related to topics and spaces. New Featured Highlight type panels allow creation and placement of 1 to 3 sub panels each with a clickable title, description, and hero image. This panel type is useful to feature events, activities and important content in the community and beyond. Existing open code container web panels are renamed as Custom Web panels. A redesigned Display Options page provides for easy visual identification and management of panel deployments and provides new capabilities to deploy web panels on individual topic pages, topic index pages, and main index / homepage as well as continuing to support site wide and space specific deployments. • Advanced Analytic updates include new period total and average values that are displayed on applicable reports to aid analysis efforts and eliminate the need to manually add up data points from a report to determine the total and averages. New Ask an Expert metrics provides a visual trending of the usage of the feature and tabulated table data provide insights into which users are making use of the feature to ask, and which expert users are being asked to answer.

  • Froala WYSIWYG editor is updated to version 4.x and now includes the ability to read and work with Markdown. Look for the "M" in the top left corner of the editor tool bar to toggle between Markdown and HTML modes. Froala will now automatically open and update content previously created with the WMD Markdown editor that continues to be available.

  • The Microsoft Teams integration is enhanced to improve support and adoption for clients that have large numbers of teams and channels in their organization. An updated configuration design is provided to allow spaces and topics to first select a team and then select from the channels associated with the team. This change allows the admin configuration page to load quickly, and for easy management of space and topic to channel mapping management.

  • Search has been updated to make use of a dual index to improve community search results while a re-index is in operation. The community search continues to use one index while a new index is built and then automatically switched over to as the active index once complete. This provides a seamless experience for community end users.
